Georgia Highlands Tutoring Lab Coordinator

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Tutoring Laboratory Coordinator on the Dahlonega campus. The coordinator of the tutoring laboratory will be responsible for the daily operations of the language laboratory on the Dahlonega campus of UNG and will report directly to the director of the laboratory language, as well as manage the uniformity of laboratory operations with the respective laboratory coordinators in the Gainesville / Oconee campuses. Job Duties & Responsibilities
The Tutoring Lab Coordinator will:
- Hire and train laboratory assistants in laboratory procedures and practices, and evaluate their performance.
- Instruct students on the use of laboratory materials and equipment, provide technical support as necessary.
- Coordinate comments on the activities presented in the laboratory.
- Conduct workshops and train laboratory assistants to conduct workshops.
- Help language students with their language lab assignments and other questions related to language learning.
- Assist the laboratory director and language teachers in the creation/maintenance of the D2L course about coordinated laboratory activities before each semester (including summer sessions).
- Making recommendations to the Laboratory Director regarding practices and procedures within the laboratory, such as discovering and implementing innovative technological tools for laboratory activities, as well as providing monthly self-assessments of personal work performance.
Georgia Highlands D2L Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- You must have excellent written/spoken communication in English, as well as an almost native fluency in Spanish or French.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with the D2L LMS platform, MS Word, MS Excel, and other language lab tools, as well as the ability to use and promote new technological resources.
